This year, the Missionary Circle sponsored a Christmas Fellowship. On December 27, 2014 a group of sixteen traveled to historic Social Circle, Georgia for a luncheon at Blue Willow Inn. The Blue Willow Inn is one of the South’s top restaurants and possibly the best restaurant in the South featuring traditional southern cooking. It was voted “Best in the South” by Southern Living magazine readers for 5 years. It was also featured in USA Today’s Top Ten, America Gourmet magazine and the Food Network.
The group left Augusta at 9:30 AM. Elder Thornton and Deacon Lewis accompanied the group of ladies so that Brother Rouse, the driver, would have company on the trip. The ladies were grateful for their support in this effort. Along with coordinating this event, Missionary Thornton was in charge of activities and games. Bible IQ was tested as well as Bible puzzle fun. At the end, gifts were exchanged in the White Elephant game.
The menu included a variety of four meats, nine vegetable/entries, a fruit and salad bar, and nine different desserts. This was an event for food, fun, and fellowship. Everyone enjoyed the trip. Plans are being made to make this an annual event.
