The 2014 International AIM (Auxiliaries in Ministry) Convention is the third largest convention of the Church of God in Christ. Kansas City, Missouri hosted this event during the week of June 30 – July 4, 2014. The convention offered excellent opportunities for training and development programs for delegates of all ages. It featured the five auxiliary ministries – Sunday School, Music, Youth, Mission and Evangelism. Throughout the week, everyone had a chance to learn and develop their skills through a variety of workshops and special events.
During the day the Music Department president, Dr. Judith McAllister hosted the IMDU (International Music Department University) Applied Studies Institute.
Along with Dr. Benjamin Stephens, the International Youth President and Evangelist Joyce Rodgers, the International Youth Chairlady, the MY (Music and Youth) Convention targeted the youth. The Mission and Evangelism Convention was spearheaded by Bishop Carlis Moody, International Missions Department President, Dr. Elijah Hankerson, International Evangelism President, and Evangelist Rita Womack, International Elect Lady. Bishop Alton Gatlin, International Sunday School Superintendent and Evangelist Cleolia Penix, the International Sunday School Field Representative presided over the Sunday School Convention. The SMM (Scholastic Motivation Ministries) Competitions which included Bible Bowl, Mathematics, Spelling Bee and Robotics were also day sessions.
The evening services featured dynamic speakers from all over the nation and on Thursday the AIM Chairman, Superintendent Linwood Dillard was the speaker. On Friday evening, the presiding bishop, Bishop Charles Blake addressed the convention and presented his vision for the auxiliaries.
